Okezie Ikpeazu
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, to vacate office immediately for submitting false information to his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the party’s governorship primary in December 2014.
According to the report, Justice Okon Abang in the judgement ordered theIndependent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately issue a certificate of return to the plaintiff, Uche Ogah, who was the 1st runner up in the party’s primaries. The judge said that Ikpeazu was guilty of tax evasion, and therefore, was not qualified to contest in the 2015 governorship elections.
