Sport: Salisu Yusuf to replace Amokachi as Keshi’s assistant

Daniel-Amokachi
El Kanemi Warriors’ Salisu Yusuf is expected to be named the new assistant coach to Stephen Keshi, as the Big Boss prepares to return as the Super Eagles’ technical helmsman. Yusuf who worked as one of the assistants to Samson Siasia during the latter’s reign as the Eagles’ gaffer, according to SL10.ng, is expected to take the place of Daniel Amokachi in the Keshi-led technical crew.
According to sources close to the Nigeria Football Federation, the former Ranchers Bees mercurial midfielder earlier speculated as a possible replacement for Amokachi will be in charge of the home-based Super Eagles team that would prepare for the CHAN 2016 qualifiers. Although it is not yet clear why the NFF wants Amokachi out of the Eagles’ technical crew, it is believed that the leadership at the Glass House wants a coach from the core northern part of the country, to balance the national character quota. There have been reports lately that Keshi had a fall-out with Amokachi, even though the Super Eagles’ camp denied such incident.
