Twenty-three of the 28 political parties in
Borno State have called on the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone elections in the
state till September.
The parties are also suggesting the inauguration of an
interim government to run the affairs of the state after the
expiration of the tenure of the present administration on
May 29, 2015.

The parties, under the aegis of the Inter Party Advisory
Council, Borno State chapter, noted that there was no way
a credible election could be held in the state under the
present condition.
Babagana Musa, chairman of the council, said the
decision was taken by all other political parties in the
state except five — All Progressives Congress, Kowa Party,
All Progressive Grand Alliance, Peoples Democratic Party
and Africa Alliance.
