POLICE DEPLOY 4,282 OFFICERS FOR JONATHAN’S ONDO STATE RALLY: MIMIKO DECLARED TODAY WORKFREE DAY: TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER RESTRICTS VEHICULAR MOVEMENT
The Ondo State Police Command has said it has deployed a total of 4,282 policemen to provide security in the State during President Goodluck Jonathan's visit to the state today.
It said the number would include five units of visiting Police Mobile Force to serve as back up.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Wole Ogodo, said in Akure that adequate security measures had been taken to forestall any breakdown of law and order during the visit.
According to him, the police would work with other security agencies including the Army, Civil Defense Corps and other sister agencies during the period.
He added that the security personnel would be placed in strategic locations.
It deployed 4,000 policemen during the Gen. Muhammadu Buhari rally last Saturday, and there was no record of any breach of peace.
President Goodluck Jonathan and his campaign team are expected to continue their campaign in the sunshine state today
Meanwhile, the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has declared today work free day to all civil servant and the market women and men especially those who transacts business at Oja Oba Adesida Akure in order to join the train of Goodluck Jonathan's re-election.
Also, the Commissioner for Transport also restrict vehicular movement at Oba Adesida road between 9am and 3pm. He further advised motorist to take alternative route like the FUTA Expressway
