Report reaching me from one of the Pye's Blog readers says, a Center Referee,Charkes Ozigbo was assaulted by Nigerian Football Fans during their match between Rangers Bee of Kaduna and Kwara United of Ilorin in Abuja yesterday.
According to a similar report by Sunrise Sports Executive producer, Toyin Ibitoye, The referee was reportedly attacked after he gave a penalty to one of the clubs. The supporters of the opposing club entered the football field and attacked the referee bringing the match to a abrupt halt. The match was subsequently cancelled.
