Not many know that Pastor Goodheart Obi Ekwueme is former
vice-president Dr. Alex Ekwueme’s son. He was born on December 3rd, 1968
in the Eastern part of Nigeria. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant
in 1997 while he practised with the prestigious KPMG (Chartered
Accountants) in Lagos, Nigeria. He had previously earned his first
degree (in Accountancy) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Northern
Nigeria. In 1995, he became an Associate member of the Nigeria Institute
of Management [NIM] and in 2005 he became an associate member of the
Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria[CITN].

Even though Rev. GoodHeart was born into a Christian home (with an Anglican back ground), being the scion and first son of Nigeria’s former Vice President, Dr. Alexander Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme (1979-1983), it wasn’t until 1985 that he personally met and encountered the Lord Jesus, surrendering his life to love and to serve Him.This spiritual encounter took place in his first year on the campus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and since then, he has been actively involved in Christian Ministry. Ministry work has taken him far and wide in almost three decades since that fateful day in Zaria. He has been involved in Church planting work as well as hosting evangelical OUTREACHES and Crusades. This passion for God is what led him to join House on the Rock – a pattern church headquartered in Lagos and pioneered by Pastor Paul A. Adefarasin in 1995 (barely 6 months after its inception).
He became an ordained minister in 1999 with the Rock Foundation aka House on the Rock. In 1999, he was sent to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to pioneer “THE REFUGE” – a daughter church of House on the Rock, www.hotrrefuge.org. And since September 1999 where a handful of men and women gathered, HOTR Refuge as its popularly called has been growing in leaps and bounds through the grace of God and the faithful stewardship of Pastor Goodheart.
A Reformer and Revivalist, “Pastor GoodHeart”, as he’s fondly called, is fully committed to seeing the endtime agenda of God established on the earth and in the hearts of men. In addition to his very busy schedule pastoring the fast growing capital city church, overseeing the Northern region of the House on the Rock Churches, as the Northern Regional Director, overseeing the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (FCT chapter) Pastor Goodheart has been used to author eight (8) highly impactful and top selling books including Revival is Here Again!
Since 2006, Pastor GoodHeart has been greatly involved with raising a New Generation of Leaders in our Nation through his strong and passionate involvement with hosting outreach programs on several higher institutions in Nigeria under the aegis and platform of “WINNING TODAY ON CAMPUS”! These crusades have drawn several thousands of people to the Lord, many of who are standing in one capacity of leadership or the other in our society today.
