Properties worth millions of Naira were today destroyed in an explosion at a gas retail station which spread to many other houses along Arakale road in Akure,the state capital.
Report from the scene of the incident says though the fire was eventually
put off after three hours,the number of human casuality was yet to be
ascertained at press time.
One of the eye witnesses, One Mr Ebenezer who is an Aluminum dealer told Pyemedia that, the fire outbreak started sudden around 6:30pm and they immediately called on the Ondo State fire service to rescue the situation. He further explained that, they even called all the media stations to announce it in order to facilitate the Fire rescuer to rescue resodents in the area.
it was sad that, the Fire Station came into the scene of the incident an hour later when Millions of properties were already destroyed.
Red cross group came later into the scene to rescue those who were injured and they were receiving treatment at the state specialist hospital.
