Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Ondo State has been rated Best State Polytechnic by the United Transparency International Stardard.
The Rector of the institution , Professor Igbekele Ajibefun made the disclosure on a Radio Chat today in Akure.
The rector says, due to the development and transformation done in the polytechnic, they were recognized as best State polytechnic in Nigeria.
He also emphased on the last protest chaired by the Student leaders of the institution as a surprise.
Ajibefun said, the demonstration came as a surprise to the management because the institution enjoyed good inter relationship with its students and the community."The protest was masterminded by extenal forces".
He disclosed that, the Student leaders later confessed they were hijacked to demonstrate the protest and they regretted their actions.
They have apologized on National dailies and students will resume this August to conclude the session.
He also said, the polytechnic staffs are happy they didnt join the strike because they are enjoying good attention and love showered by their employer which is the Ondo State Government.
Ajibefun thanked the state government for supporting the institution and by equipping the School to compare favorably with other Nation polytechnics.
He describe the government of Mimiko as a workers friendly administration.
Professor Ajibefun also stated that about 5 best students have been given Scholarship for Common European Masters Program.
He also commended the Olowo of Owo for inviting him and some of his colleagues to the United State, at Califonia for the World Congress of Owo Association in the US.
He therefore enjoined students to also be at their best in order to benefit from various lined up PROGRAMMES of the institution.
