THE film adaptation of a novel by the Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, published in 2006 by Knopf/Anchor, will soon be premiered in Nigeria.
Sources reaching us revealed that the previously restricted 'Half of a Yellow Sun' movie, which the Nigerian Censors Board stopped it's Nigerian premiere months ago,‎ has been released for cinema viewing.
The source who disclosed this said that "the movie would premiere in cinemas within weeks, also disclosed that certain parts of the movie may have been edited by the Censor's Board, but a large part of the movie remains uncensored and should still appeal to the millions of Nigerians who have been anticipating the Chimamanda Adiche's adaptation."

Meanwhile, In a deal concluded with Monterey Media, PanaTV has secured non-exclusive rights to stream Half of a Yellow Sun in the US along with a limited shared exclusive pre-window. The movie will be available for VOD in the US from June 29 and in the UK from August 2014.
The Head of Content at PanaTV, Mandy Roger, says “This demonstrates that we seek out high quality films for our viewers; expect to see more of such quality films and content on PanaTV this year.”
