It said the tournament was proving to be a social media hit.
The Global Stadium, an online and mobile hub for the World Cup matches where fans follow the games live, had attracted the equivalent of 3,077 stadiums.
Inside Games quoted FIFA’s Head of Digital, Matt Stone, said the 2014 World Cup was developing into a mobile and social one.
The Global Stadium reflects the sense of togetherness which the World Cup brings and the shared excitement which digital platforms offer.
The strong growth in our mobile audience, particularly in the application has kept fans engaged; whether they are on the move or as a second screen companion,’’ it said.
The publication said football fans across the globe had consumed more than 7.5 billion page impressions of the official World Cup digital content.
It also said the official FIFA application had become the biggest sports event application of all times with a record 20 million downloads in 26 days.
It added that the official World Cup Instagram application increased from 42,000 to 550,000 followers in seven days, a growth rate of over 1,000 per cent.
Meanwhile, 358 million Facebook users have accessed official FIFA social contents.
The International Federation's Twitter followers surpassed the 13.5 million mark, with an average of 10 new followers per second recorded on the day of the opening match.
