"I Have No Other Job Rather Than Singing" - Dele Taiwo

Juju singer, Dele Taiwo, has said he does not mix singing with any other profession.
Speaking with Arts Dome, the artiste who is popularly addressed as ‘Gentleman Dele Taiwo’ by his fans noted that he is currently focused on how to fully return to the stage.
The musician, who said he returned to the country from the United Kingdom two years ago, added that he was grateful to God that it did not take long before he gained acceptance.
He said, ‘‘So far so good, I give God the glory that since I came back, it did not take long for my fans to accept me. It could be difficult to receive such warm welcome having left the scene for two years. I have no other job than singing. Juju music is what I know best. I do no other job except the interest I recently developed for acting. Singing and acting are showbiz-related. Entertainment is my passion. It is something that makes me happy and singing is one profession that I like so much.’’
Though he revealed that the album, Gratitude, which he released last year did not enjoy good patronage because of poor publicity, the singer stated that he would endeavour to make his fans proud in his next album.
‘‘Recently, most marketers now prefer to focus on gospel and hip-hop artistes. The development often affects the promotion of other genres. This reason made the album to record poor publicity and sales. The album was well packaged and featured artistes such as Pasuma, Sunny Neji and 9ice. I then decided to float a label, DEETEE Records, to promote my works and assist up-and-coming artistes. I also have a studio where I work on songs. Currently, I am remixing my first album, Magic Moments,’’ he added.
