There was supposed to be a wedding at Alabama's Spring Hill Baptist Church this weekend. Instead, the Mobile church held a funeral.
Brittany Huber, 25, was killed in a car crash Monday while she was driving with her fiancé, John Redman, ahead of their wedding, Atlanta's CBS46 reported.
A Friday memorial for the bride was held at the church where the couple was scheduled to wed on Saturday, AL.com reported.
The engaged couple was traveling from their Georgia home to their hometown of Mobile for the big day when Redman, the driver, lost control of his Lexus and slammed into a concrete wall during a rainstorm, Georgia State Police said. Redman, an assistant basketball coach at Dalton State University, suffered head trauma and broken bones. He was taken to an Atlanta hospital. Huber was killed instantly.

Redman, 23, was driving too fast, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Tracey Watson told the Dalton Daily Citizen.

A witness to the crash freed the couple's dog, Paige, from the wreckage. She joined the couple's hands and prayed over them.
