Ekiti 2014: PDP NWC withdraws Peter Obafemi's clearance

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party has withdrawn the provisional clearance given to Mr Peter Obafemi by the party`s Ekiti State Screening Appeal Committee. This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Olisa Metuh, the party`s National Publicity Secretary on Wednesday in Abuja.

He added that the NWC in the same vein, had approved the constitiution  of a 16-man Caretaker Committee for its Sokoto State chapter with Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammed as Chairman and Alhaji Musa Garba Gusau, secretary.
Metuh said that the inauguration of the committee would hold on March 14, at the party`s National Secretariat.
Reports that Obafemi had earlier been disqualified by the PDP Screening Committee because he had no NYSC discharge certificate.

The committee which was headed by Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, had cleared 13 out of the 16 aspirants to participate in the primaries ahead of the governorship poll slated for June 21.

Ndoma-Egba, presented the committee’s report to the party’s leadership in Abuja on March 10.
Sen. Bode Olowoporoku and Mrs Bosede Dada, were also disqualified from contesting the primaries for various reasons by the screening committee.
Those cleared to contest the poll are, Mr Ayo Fayose, former governor of the state, Mr Oluwadare Bajide, retired Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade, former Minister of Police Affairs and Prince Adedayo Adeyeye.
Others are, Adeyanju Sunday, Erelu Ogundipe, Abiodun Aluko, Adewale Aribisala, Oladeji Omoyeni, Olubenga Aluko, Oluropo Ogunbolude, Dr Omolara Adubiaro and Ajayi Ayodeji.
