The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has set a target of delivering a minimum of one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s National Assembly candidates in the January 16, 2027 general elections.
The target was announced at a strategic meeting of the Ondo State APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) with the party’s candidates for the 2027 elections, held on Sunday, October 25, at the APC State Secretariat, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu House, Akure.
In a communique issued after the meeting, the council reaffirmed its commitment to securing victory for all APC candidates, stressing the need for unity, coordinated campaigns and a common political message across the state.
The council adopted the philosophy of “One Party, One Message, One Election, One Victory,” urging candidates to campaign collectively and avoid bitterness, misrepresentation and activities capable of undermining the party’s chances at the polls.
It noted that President Tinubu’s re-election bid and the emergence of APC candidates into the National Assembly were critical to sustaining the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and providing the legislative support required to drive national development.
The meeting also reviewed campaign progress across the state, identified operational challenges and resolved to harmonise individual campaign strategies into a unified platform for effective coordination and prudent management of human and material resources.
The PCC further called on candidates to highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration in Ondo State, citing the appointment of three ministers, two special advisers and managing directors of federal parastatals from the state.
Other projects highlighted include the approval and take-off of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital, Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, and the approval of the Olokola Deep Seaport in Ilaje.
The council also listed major road infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Ore-Akure, Ore-Benin and Akure-Owo-Benin road networks, describing them as investments expected to deliver significant economic benefits to the state upon completion.
The PCC commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his moral, financial and logistical support, as well as his contributions to the party’s political mobilisation efforts and governance in the state.
The council maintained that electing APC candidates into the National Assembly would strengthen the party’s legislative presence and support the consolidation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
It also called on party members to demonstrate unity and uphold the Omoluabi values associated with the people of Ondo State ahead of the presidential campaign rally scheduled for November 11, 2026, at the Akure Sports Stadium.
The meeting was attended by APC State Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, who represented the State Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole; PCC Director-General, Rt. Hon. Victor Adekanye Olabimtan; PCC Secretary, Hon. Ola Oguntimehin; and Chairman of the Media and Strategic Communication Subcommittee, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, alongside the party’s candidates.
The council described the “Ondo for Tinubu” campaign as a historic commitment to delivering at least one million votes for the President and APC legislative candidates in the forthcoming elections.
