Security operatives comprising troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigeria Police Force have intercepted a suspected logistics supplier to armed bandits in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The suspect was reportedly arrested while transporting communication devices and other essential provisions believed to be destined for bandit groups operating around the Bagega axis of the state.
Security sources said the operation is a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle the logistics network sustaining criminal elements across Zamfara. The recovered items are expected to aid ongoing investigations aimed at identifying and apprehending other members of the supply chain.
Experts have noted that disrupting the movement of supplies, communication equipment, and other logistical support to criminal groups is critical to weakening their operational capacity. Security analysts also believe that targeting supply routes complements ongoing military offensives by limiting the ability of bandits to coordinate attacks and sustain their activities.
The successful interception highlights the growing synergy among Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the NSCDC, and the Nigeria Police Force in conducting intelligence-driven operations against criminal networks in the North-West.
