The National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, on Friday, July 31, 2026, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, in a move aimed at strengthening police-community relations and supporting effective policing in the state.
The delegation, which included the Akwa Ibom State PCRC Chairman, Pastor Ezekiel Umoh, was received at the Command Headquarters in Uyo.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the visit was designed to deepen the longstanding partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and the PCRC by promoting stronger community engagement, enhancing collaboration in crime prevention, and advancing public safety across Akwa Ibom State.
A major highlight of the visit was the commissioning of a newly constructed sanitary facility donated by the PCRC to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command. The facility is expected to improve sanitation within the Command Headquarters, enhance the welfare of police personnel, and provide a more conducive environment for members of the public seeking police services.
Speaking during the visit, the PCRC National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, praised CP Baba Mohammed Azare for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and commitment to building strong partnerships between the Police and key stakeholders. He reaffirmed the Committee’s continued commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in strengthening community policing and improving security nationwide.
In his response, CP Baba Mohammed Azare expressed appreciation to the PCRC for its unwavering support and contributions to fostering cordial police-community relations. He described the donation of the sanitary facility as a demonstration of the Committee’s concern for the welfare of police personnel and its commitment to improving public service delivery.
The Commissioner also reiterated the Command’s resolve to sustain professional, intelligence-led, and people-oriented policing, stressing that continued collaboration with the PCRC and other stakeholders remains vital to maintaining peace, enhancing security, and strengthening public confidence in the Police.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to building strategic partnerships that support effective policing and ensure a safer and more secure environment for all residents of the state.
