Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested four suspected terrorists during a cordon-and-search operation in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the North-West.
The operation, carried out at about 10:10 a.m. on July 27, was conducted by troops deployed at Ungwan Mailelle in collaboration with Community Guards following credible intelligence on the presence of suspected terrorist elements in the community.
Security sources said the intelligence-driven operation targeted Ungwan Mailelle village, where the troops successfully apprehended the four suspects without resistance or casualties.
The arrested suspects were subsequently handed over to the 8 Military Intelligence Battalion (8 MIB) for further investigation and other necessary actions.
Military sources noted that the operation is part of sustained efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to identify, apprehend and dismantle terrorist cells operating across communities in Sokoto State and the wider North-West region.
The sources added that the military remains committed to intelligence-led operations aimed at enhancing security, protecting communities and denying criminal elements freedom of movement across the theatre of operations.
