The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regional defence cooperation and enhancing military logistics by hosting a delegation from the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) on a strategic study tour in Nairobi.
The delegation, comprising senior officers and participants of NACOLM Course 4–2026, was received on 20 July 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to promote professional military education, operational excellence and knowledge exchange among African armed forces.
Led by the Commandant of NACOLM, Major General Collins Adetoba, the Nigerian delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VCDF), Lieutenant General John Omenda, at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi. During the meeting, both sides discussed areas of mutual interest and explored opportunities to further strengthen defence collaboration between the Kenya Defence Forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Speaking during the engagement, the Chief of Training Development Establishment and Equipment Tables (TDE & ETs) at the Kenya Army Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Paul Koech, stressed the importance of building resilient and self-reliant military logistics systems capable of supporting modern operations amid evolving security threats.
He urged participants to maximise the study tour by exchanging ideas and best practices that would enhance operational readiness and contribute to stronger regional defence cooperation.
Major General Adetoba explained that the study tour is part of NACOLM’s geostrategic engagement programme, designed to expose participants to best practices in military logistics across Africa. He noted that collaboration among African armed forces remains critical to developing resilient supply chains, improving operational effectiveness and strengthening mission readiness.
The visit concluded with both sides reaffirming the long-standing defence relationship between Kenya and Nigeria, while highlighting the importance of sustained collaboration in building interoperable, resilient and mission-ready armed forces capable of addressing emerging security challenges across the continent.
