IGP Disu Hosts Former Police Chiefs to Strengthen Reforms, Security Strategy

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday received a delegation of former Inspectors-General of Police at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, in a move aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and advancing ongoing police reforms.

The distinguished delegation comprised former police chiefs including Aliyu Attah, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Mbama Okiro, Ogbonna Onovo, Abubakar Ringim, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, Sulaiman Abba, Usman Alkali Baba, and Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The meeting focused on harnessing the extensive institutional memory, professional expertise and strategic insights of the former police chiefs to address emerging security challenges across the country while supporting the ongoing transformation of the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking during the engagement, IGP Disu expressed appreciation to his predecessors for their continued commitment to the growth and development of the Force. He emphasized that their wealth of experience remains a critical resource in shaping effective policing strategies and sustaining reforms aimed at enhancing professionalism, operational efficiency and public confidence.


The visit underscored the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to fostering continuity in leadership, promoting institutional learning and leveraging the collective experience of past and present leadership to strengthen national security.
