The Delta State Police Command has intensified its statewide visibility policing and enforcement operations, impounding 31 vehicles in Agbor for various traffic and vehicle registration offences.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed in a statement that the enforcement exercise, conducted on Friday, 3 July 2026, was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations (DOPS).

According to the statement, the operation covered Agbor metropolis, major highways, entry and exit points, as well as border communities between Delta and Edo States. It was aimed at strengthening police visibility, deterring criminal activities, enforcing compliance with traffic and vehicle registration laws, and denying criminal elements opportunities to operate within the area.

The Command said 31 vehicles were impounded during the operation for offences including failure to display registration number plates, obscured or covered number plates, expired vehicle particulars, and other traffic-related violations.

It added that all affected vehicles would be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and sustained strategic enforcement operations across the state.

He urged motorists to comply with all traffic and vehicle registration requirements, stressing that strict enforcement remains critical to enhancing public safety, preventing crime, and maintaining law and order throughout Delta State.
