Veteran Journalist Alhaji Ahmed Mari Dies After Prolonged Illness

The journalism community in Borno State has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran journalist, Alhaji Ahmed Mari of Champions Newspapers.

Alhaji Mari reportedly passed away after a prolonged illness, bringing to an end a distinguished career dedicated to journalism and public service. Throughout his years in the media profession, he was widely respected for his commitment to ethical reporting and his contributions to the development of journalism in Borno State and beyond.

His passing has elicited tributes from colleagues, friends, and members of the public, who have described him as a seasoned journalist whose legacy will continue to inspire generations of media practitioners.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in accordance with Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, prayers have continued to pour in for the late journalist, with many asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, envelop him in His infinite mercy, and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
