The Rivers State Police Command has ordered an immediate investigation into allegations of misconduct involving a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) following a publication circulating on various online platforms.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, the Command said it had taken swift action in response to the allegations by removing the officer from his position pending the outcome of a comprehensive investigation.
According to the statement, the decision reflects the Command’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the discharge of its duties.
Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, expressed deep concern over the allegations and stressed that the Command would not tolerate any form of misconduct, abuse of office, or actions capable of eroding public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
The CP assured residents that the investigation would be conducted thoroughly, professionally, and without prejudice to ensure that the truth is established and appropriate action taken.
He reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and service delivery across the state.
The Rivers Police Command also commended members of the public for their vigilance and encouraged citizens to continue reporting incidents of misconduct through established complaint channels.
