The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed as fake a purported shortlist of candidates for medical examination currently circulating on social media, warning applicants and members of the public against falling victim to misinformation and fraudsters.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, the PSC clarified that no shortlist for medical screening has been released.

According to the Commission, the evaluation of the recently conducted written examination is still in its concluding stage, and successful candidates will be notified through official channels once the process is completed.

“The evaluation of the written examination is still at its concluding stage, and invitation for medical examination will be communicated to successful applicants in the coming days,” the statement said.

The PSC explained that notifications would be sent via email, SMS, the official recruitment portal, and other verified communication platforms operated by the Commission.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, stressing that the quality of personnel recruited into the Nigeria Police Force remains critical to the effectiveness of the institution.

It urged applicants and the general public to disregard unofficial information and rely only on verified channels for updates concerning the ongoing recruitment exercise.

The PSC also reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge at every stage and advised applicants to be cautious of individuals or groups seeking to exploit them financially.

The Commission assured stakeholders that all official information regarding the recruitment exercise would be communicated through its verified platforms.
