Nigeria Police, Police Trust Fund Commission New Taraba Command Headquarters, Modern Divisional HQ

The Nigeria Police Force, in partnership with the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), has commissioned a newly constructed Taraba State Police Command Headquarters alongside a modern Divisional Police Headquarters in Yorro Local Government Area, as part of efforts to strengthen policing infrastructure and enhance internal security.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, represented by the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Morkwap Sebastine Dongshal, alongside the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Mohammed Sheidu, and representatives of the Taraba State Government.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, CP Dongshal, speaking on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for their continued investment in strengthening the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force. He noted that the projects align with the IGP’s people-centred policing agenda, which prioritises improved welfare, modern infrastructure, and a conducive working environment for police personnel.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Mohammed Sheidu, reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to supporting the Police through the provision of modern infrastructure and other critical resources required for effective policing. He said the newly commissioned facilities reflect the Federal Government’s determination to strengthen internal security and improve the capacity of the Police to effectively carry out their constitutional responsibilities. He added that the Trust Fund would continue to partner with the Nigeria Police Force to enhance personnel welfare, operational efficiency, and quality service delivery nationwide.

Representing the Governor of Taraba State, Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd), CP Cyril Agbe (Rtd) commended the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for what he described as a significant investment in the security architecture and development of Taraba State. He noted that the projects would boost policing capacity and improve public safety across the state.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging strategic partnerships to strengthen operational effectiveness, improve personnel welfare, and deliver efficient, professional, and people-focused policing services to Nigerians.
