The Federal Government has taken another step in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements across the globe with the presentation of Letters of Credence to newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioners-designate to Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and Egypt.

The Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, presented the Letters of Credence to the envoys on Monday, June 22, 2026, following the receipt of Agrément from their host countries approving their appointments as Nigeria’s principal representatives.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the presentation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing deployment of Nigeria’s diplomatic representatives to missions abroad.

The Ministry disclosed that out of the 69 Ambassadors appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a total of 63 Agréments have so far been received from host countries, including major diplomatic destinations such as India and South Africa.

It further revealed that many of the affected Ambassadors have already departed Nigeria and commenced their official duties in their respective countries of assignment.

The Ministry expressed optimism that the remaining countries yet to grant approval would soon communicate their acceptance of Nigeria’s designated envoys, thereby facilitating the full deployment of the diplomatic corps.

According to the Ministry, the development is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen diplomatic cooperation and advance Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives across strategic regions of the world.

The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to fostering cordial relations with partner nations and promoting Nigeria’s interests through effective diplomatic engagement.
