The Imo State Police Command has intensified its fight against crime with the deployment of a long-range surveillance drone to enhance intelligence gathering and support ongoing operations targeting criminal elements across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso, has deployed the surveillance drone as part of efforts to strengthen security operations and improve real-time monitoring of criminal activities in partnership with the Imo State Security Organization (ISSO) vigilantes.
The drone, donated by a public-spirited resident of Ihiagwa Community in Owerri West Local Government Area, is expected to bolster intelligence-led policing by enabling security operatives to identify, track and respond more effectively to criminal threats.
The Police Command described the donation as a demonstration of the critical role of community participation in supporting law enforcement and enhancing public safety.
According to the Command, the deployment of the drone underscores its commitment to leveraging technology and collaboration with local security stakeholders to combat crime and maintain peace across Imo State.
The Police assured residents that the new surveillance capability would further strengthen ongoing operations, stressing that criminal elements would have no hiding place anywhere in the state. It also urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to sustain the fight against crime.
