The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.) OFR, has called for continued national support for the Armed Forces of Nigeria, stressing that unity, prayers, and moral encouragement remain vital in the fight against insecurity across the country.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by Leah Katung-Babatunde, Special Assistant (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Defence, following a courtesy visit by the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, General Musa said the battle against insurgency, terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities requires a collective national effort. He noted that the prayers and support from religious organisations continue to strengthen the morale of troops serving in various operational theatres nationwide.

The Defence Minister commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their consistent prayers and support for Nigeria’s security institutions, reaffirming the commitment of the Armed Forces to protecting the nation’s territorial integrity and ensuring the safety of citizens.

He also urged religious leaders across the country to continue promoting peace, patriotism, unity, and national cohesion, describing faith-based organisations as key partners in sustaining peace and supporting national security efforts.

In his remarks, Pastor Muoka pledged the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government. He offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and guidance in leading the country toward peace, stability, and economic prosperity.

The cleric also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops, as well as enduring peace across the country.

The visit ended with an exchange of souvenirs and a renewed commitment by both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to collaborate in advancing national peace, unity, and security.
