Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered ₦8 million ransom in a successful operation in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation, carried out by troops deployed in Sector 9, Shendam, followed the abduction of a female victim from the Bauna area of Shendam on April 19, 2026.

Troops subsequently traced the victim to a hideout in Padam Forest in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, where she was rescued unharmed.
In addition to the rescue, troops recovered the sum of ₦8,000,000, earlier paid as ransom by the victim’s family. The money has since been returned to the family.
The victim was taken to the General Hospital in Shendam for medical examination before being safely reunited with her relatives.
Meanwhile, security forces have intensified follow-up operations across Qua’an Pan and Shendam areas to track down and apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
Operation ENDURING PEACE commended residents for their cooperation and urged the public to continue providing timely information to support ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
