As activities for the 2026 National Police Week continued, the Abia State Police Command on Day 3 intensified its community engagement drive with a school outreach and public sensitization campaign led by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).
The outreach programme, organised as part of events marking National Police Day, saw officers of the command engage pupils in an interactive session aimed at educating them on the role of the Police and the dangers of social vices.
Leading the session were the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, and the POCACOV Coordinator, ASP Ekenta Ngozi Blessing, who took time to enlighten the students on the duties and responsibilities of police officers, helping them better understand the role of law enforcement in society.
The pupils were also sensitized on the dangers and consequences of crime, cultism and other negative behaviours, with the officers urging them to make responsible choices that would shape a brighter future.
According to the command, the session was designed to guide and inspire the children, reminding them that they are the leaders of tomorrow and that the decisions they make today will have a lasting impact on their lives and the society at large.
The Abia State Police Command said the initiative forms part of its proactive strategy to tackle crime from the grassroots by positively influencing young minds and promoting policing as a noble and professional career.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community engagement and building a safer society through sustained sensitization campaigns and closer partnership with the public.
