Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 18 suspected members of a terror support network allegedly supplying logistics to Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria’s North-East.
According to preliminary findings, the suspects were intercepted while moving from Gubio towards the Gudumbali axis, where they were reportedly heading to deliver supplies to terrorist elements operating in the area.
Military authorities said initial confessions indicate that many of the suspects may have been lured into the illegal operation due to economic hardship, underscoring how insurgent groups continue to exploit vulnerable civilians to sustain their activities.
The Nigerian Army described the development as a serious security concern and warned citizens against any form of collaboration with terrorist groups, stressing that providing logistics, intelligence, or other forms of assistance to insurgents remains a grave offence with far-reaching consequences for national security and civilian safety.
The Army also called on residents of host communities to remain vigilant and continue supporting ongoing counterinsurgency operations by reporting suspicious movements and resisting attempts by criminal elements to recruit or influence them.
It noted that the fight against terrorism cannot be won by military action alone, emphasizing the importance of stronger community partnerships, socio-economic empowerment, and access to basic services in vulnerable areas to reduce the appeal of insurgent networks.
Reaffirming its commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region, the Nigerian Army said lasting success against terrorism will depend on a united national effort that combines sustained military pressure with development-focused interventions and active community cooperation.
