The Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Police have pledged close collaboration to ensure a thorough investigation and speedy prosecution of those involved in the recent Ozoro incident.
At the Delta State Police Command Headquarters in Asaba on Monday, March 23, 2026, Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola received a delegation from the office of the Attorney-General of Delta State, led by Attorney-General Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN.
During the visit, the Attorney-General commended the police for their swift response in restoring calm in Ozoro after the incident, which had triggered widespread public concern.
He assured the police of the Delta State Government’s full support in ensuring diligent prosecution of all those found culpable, stressing that justice must be served and offenders punished as a deterrent to others.
In response, CP Aina Adesola thanked the Attorney-General and the state government for their support, noting that peace had been restored in the affected area. He said he had personally visited Ozoro to engage key stakeholders and had directed the investigation team to ensure that all those directly involved in the incident are swiftly prosecuted.
The police commissioner further reassured residents that the command remains committed to identifying and prosecuting all culprits in accordance with the law.
