Gombe — The Gombe State Police Command on Monday commenced activities for the 2026 National Police Day celebration with a sanitation and environmental cleaning exercise as well as a medical outreach programme held at the Gombe Emir’s Palace.
The Day One activities were led by the Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, alongside members of the command’s management team.
According to the command, the sanitation exercise attracted active participation from police officers and members of the community, including senior government officials, the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), the Gombe Old Market Association, the Gombe State Environmental Protection Agency (GOSEPA), and other key stakeholders.
The command said the strong turnout reflected the importance of collaborative policing and the shared responsibility of promoting a clean and healthy environment
The event also featured a comprehensive medical outreach, which drew a large number of community members. Beneficiaries received free medical consultations, tests, and medications as part of the Nigeria Police Force’s effort to improve citizens’ wellbeing and deepen public trust.
The Commissioner of Police commended all stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining partnerships that promote peace, security, and community development across Gombe State.
The Gombe State Police Command also urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies and to participate actively in initiatives aimed at building a safer and healthier society.
