The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Iyamah Daniel Edebor, has decorated 228 newly promoted officers serving within the Command, following their elevation from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II).

According to a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, the decoration ceremony marked a significant milestone in the careers of the officers and underscored the Command’s commitment to rewarding diligence, discipline and service excellence.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, CP Iyamah congratulated them on their well-deserved promotion, describing the elevation as a testament to their dedication, hard work and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He noted that the recognition reflected their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, as well as maintaining law and order across Bayelsa State.

The Commissioner emphasised the importance of discipline, strict adherence to the rule of law and respect for fundamental human rights. He also stressed the need for the officers to strengthen community-oriented policing in order to deepen public trust and improve collaboration with residents.

He charged the officers to see their promotion as a call to greater responsibility and renewed commitment to service, reminding them that the reward for hard work is more work. CP Iyamah urged them to continue to conduct themselves in ways that would bring honour to the Nigeria Police Force and inspire confidence among members of the public.

The Commissioner further expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for their sustained commitment to officers’ welfare through timely promotions.
