The Anambra State Police Command has declared its readiness and high optimism ahead of the forthcoming 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA), scheduled to commence on 14 February 2026 in Asaba, Delta State. The games are themed “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action.”
Officers of the Command have expressed strong determination to represent Anambra State with zeal and professionalism as they compete for honours against counterparts from across the country.
The Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, who was represented by members of the Command Management Team, hosted strategic officers and selected athletes at the Police Headquarters in Awka on Tuesday, 4 February 2026.
Speaking through a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the CP commended the officers for their steadfastness, discipline, and commitment, describing their enthusiasm as a clear demonstration of excellence beyond routine policing duties.
CP Orutugu noted that the All Police Games provide a vital platform for promoting physical fitness, teamwork, unity, and mental alertness among officers—qualities that significantly enhance effective service delivery and professional efficiency within the Nigeria Police Force.
He expressed confidence in the preparedness and morale of the Anambra Police contingent, assuring them of the Command’s full support as they strive to excel and win medals for the Command and the Force at large.
The Commissioner further urged the officers to uphold the core values of discipline, fairness, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, reminding them that they are ambassadors of the Anambra State Police Command and must conduct themselves with dignity and professionalism at all times.
The games will feature officers from various state commands and police formations competing in events such as archery, arm wrestling, basketball, volleyball, football, judo, tug of war, karate, tennis, swimming, chess, boxing, weightlifting, and other sporting activities aimed at fostering camaraderie, wellness, and unity within the Force.
The Anambra State Police Command has wished its officers success and looks forward to a commendable outing at the 15th Biennial Police Games in Asaba.
