Ondo Govt Orders Indefinite Closure of St. Louis Primary School Over Regulatory Breaches

The Ondo State Government has ordered the immediate and indefinite closure of St. Louis Primary School in Ondo town, Ondo West Local Government Area, over alleged persistent violations of state education regulations.

The directive was issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Igbekele Ajibefun, who said the decision followed the school’s repeated failure to comply with guidelines governing the operation of private educational institutions in the state.

According to the commissioner, authorities had raised sustained concerns about the school’s operations, which were found to be inconsistent with approved standards and procedures. He explained that the closure forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to enforce compliance and ensure that private schools operate strictly within the legal and regulatory framework.

Ajibefun noted that the school would remain shut until all identified infractions are fully addressed and compliance with government requirements is achieved.

Parents and guardians of pupils enrolled at the affected school have been advised to adhere to the directive and make immediate alternative arrangements for their children.

The commissioner reaffirmed the Ondo State Government’s commitment to safeguarding quality education and upholding regulatory standards across the state.
