IGP Egbetokun Strengthens Global Policing Ties as Three Nigerian Officers Graduate in Abu Dhabi

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to international capacity building as a critical pathway to enhancing professionalism, operational effectiveness, and adherence to global law-enforcement standards.

The IGP, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL, Lagos Annex, CP Bode Ojajuni, stated this at the graduation ceremony of three officers of the Nigeria Police Force at the Abu Dhabi Police College, United Arab Emirates.

The officers—DSP Abdullah Yusuf, ASP Faith Asigidi, and Inspector Noah Joseph—graduated under the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and UAE Ministry of Interior Police Academy Exchange Programme, a four-month basic academy training initiative designed to promote cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange among global law-enforcement agencies.

The programme featured 52 police officers drawn from 44 police agencies across 35 countries, underscoring the growing importance of international collaboration in addressing transnational crime and emerging security challenges.

Speaking on the development, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin in a press statement, said the participation and successful graduation of Nigerian officers in the programme reflected the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police in positioning the Nigeria Police Force to meet contemporary policing demands through strategic international partnerships.

He noted that the exposure gained by the officers would further strengthen the operational capacity of the Force, particularly in intelligence sharing, INTERPOL engagements, and global best practices in policing.

The graduation ceremony was graced by Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, alongside senior Emirati government officials, police chiefs, and dignitaries from participating countries.
