The Nigerian Navy Board has approved the promotion of 127 senior officers to new ranks, following its meeting held on Thursday, 27 November 2025.
According to a statement signed by Commodore A. Adams-Aliu on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, the promotion list includes 15 Commodores elevated to Rear Admiral, 31 Captains promoted to Commodore, and 81 Commanders advanced to the rank of Captain.

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), extended his congratulations to all the newly promoted officers and their families. He urged them to remain dedicated to their duties, uphold the highest standards of professionalism, and continue to demonstrate loyalty to the nation and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
