The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, minps, PhD, has concluded the Command’s statewide Election Security Advocacy Tour with a final engagement session held at the Awka Area Command Headquarters on Friday, 1st November 2025.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the meeting marked the culmination of a comprehensive sensitization and capacity-building initiative aimed at preparing officers and men of the Command for effective and professional election security operations ahead of the forthcoming Anambra Governorship Election.
In his address, CP Orutugu commended the dedication and discipline displayed by officers throughout the advocacy campaign, which covered all Area Commands and Divisions across the State. He emphasized the need for professionalism, neutrality, and respect for human rights while performing election duties.
Reiterating the Command’s readiness, the CP assured that adequate measures have been put in place for the protection of lives and property before, during, and after the polls. He noted that all tactical units, intelligence teams, and patrol formations have been placed on heightened alert, with improved logistics and coordination among sister security agencies to ensure a seamless security response.
CP Orutugu further charged officers to remain vigilant, courageous, and committed to upholding the core values of the Nigeria Police Force. He underscored the importance of maintaining peace and order throughout the electoral process.
The Police Commissioner also called on residents to remain law-abiding and security-conscious, assuring that the Command will continue to partner with communities, traditional institutions, and stakeholders to deliver a peaceful, credible, and violence-free election in Anambra State.
