A new dawn has broken in the journey of the Nigeria Police Force, as 10,000 newly trained Constables proudly marched out of various Police Colleges and Training Institutions across the nation — their hearts filled with hope, courage, and a burning desire to serve their country.
In what was both a solemn and celebratory moment, the Passing Out Parade, held simultaneously on September 7, 2025, marked a historic milestone in the Force’s relentless pursuit of excellence and national security. According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the event symbolizes not just the end of training, but the birth of a new generation of officers prepared to uphold justice and protect lives with integrity and compassion.
Addressing the recruits, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, commended their unwavering dedication throughout the rigorous months of training. He urged them to wear the uniform with pride, and to let the principles of honour, diligence, and patriotism guide every action they take in service to the nation.
“These values are not just words,” the IGP reminded them. “They are the foundation of trust between the Police and the people we serve. Let them be your compass in every duty you perform.”
Throughout their intensive training, the new Constables were shaped into modern-day officers — equipped with the knowledge of community-oriented policing, intelligence gathering, ethical conduct, and respect for human rights. They have been prepared to face the realities of modern law enforcement with discipline, empathy, and resilience.
This batch represents the second wave of recruits under the current administration’s strategic manpower expansion plan — a vital step toward building a stronger, smarter, and more responsive Police Force. Earlier in January 2025, another 10,000 constables joined the Force, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to safety and peace.
With deep conviction, IGP Egbetokun reaffirmed the Force’s dedication to continuous training, improved welfare, and far-reaching reforms aimed at restoring confidence in policing. He called on the new officers to see themselves as guardians of hope, carrying the aspirations of millions who depend on the Police for protection and justice.
As the young men and women stood tall in their crisp uniforms under the morning sun, their faces reflected pride and promise — a testament to their readiness to serve, to protect, and to uphold the honour of the badge.
