The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another major success in the fight against terrorism with the neutralisation of over 15 terrorists during a precision airstrike in the Sambisa general area, Borno State.
According to a statement issued today by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operation was carried out on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).
Ejodame disclosed that the strike followed credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance, which identified a newly established terrorist enclave west of Zuwa. The hideout, he said, was being used by fighters and their commanders responsible for recent attacks around Bitta in the North-East.
“The air interdiction mission was carefully planned and executed, resulting in devastating effects on the terrorists. The strike neutralised more than 15 fighters and destroyed key structures critical to their operations,” Ejodame stated.
He added that the success of the operation highlights the NAF’s precision and resolve in combating insurgency, as well as its continued support for ground forces in joint operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks.
The statement reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens, noting that every successful mission brings the country closer to achieving lasting peace and security.
This operation comes amid sustained military efforts to flush out terrorists from the North-East and restore normalcy to communities affected by insurgency.
