Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have intensified their offensive against Boko Haram, ISWAP, and JAS terrorists, delivering heavy blows to their networks and dismantling criminal strongholds across the region.
Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, revealed that between 29 July and 4 August 2025, gallant ground forces, supported by the Air Component, Hybrid Forces, and local security stakeholders, executed a series of aggressive operations, raids, ambushes, and fighting patrols in Borno and Yobe States.
The coordinated land and air strikes targeted Ajiri, Sabsawa, Kamura-Buratai, Barno Yasu, Borgozo, Bitta, and Bulabulin Forest in Megumari, as well as Mafa, Dikwa, Bama, Biu, Magumeri, Ngala, Kaga, and Gwoza LGAs of Borno State, and Gamji village in Damaturu LGA of Yobe State. These missions resulted in the elimination of scores of terrorists, the arrest of five others, and the rescue of two kidnapped victims.
Between 1 and 4 August, further clearance operations in Kaga, Ngala, and Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, as well as Damaturu LGA, led to the arrest of seven suspected terrorist collaborators. Troops also recovered logistics items, a vehicle, motorcycles, and safely detonated several improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Major General Kangye praised the courage, resilience, and determination of the troops, noting that their sustained efforts are not only degrading terrorist capabilities but also enabling the safe resettlement of displaced persons and their return to farming activities.
