The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025, calling on qualified graduates and postgraduates across the country to apply.
The announcement, signed by Air Vice Marshal A.H. Bakari on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, was shared on the NAF’s official Facebook page on Tuesday. According to the notice, the application process is free and must be completed online via [www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng](http://www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng). Applicants are advised to review the required disciplines before filling out their forms. Upon submission, candidates are expected to print an acknowledgment slip, a parent or guardian consent form, and a local government attestation form.
The attestation form must be endorsed by either a senior military officer not below Wing Commander, a police officer not below Assistant Commissioner, a substantive local government chairman or secretary, or a magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin. The NAF emphasized that only Nigerian citizens by birth are eligible to apply.
Candidates must be between 20 and 32 years of age, except for medical doctors (consultants) who may apply between 25 and 40. Applicants must also be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, with no prior criminal convictions. Height requirements are set at a minimum of 1.66 meters for men and 1.63 meters for women.
For serving personnel, applications must be endorsed by commanding officers, and eligibility is limited to those who have served at least five years and attained the rank of Corporal.
Academic requirements include a minimum of Second Class Lower Division for degree holders and Upper Credit for HND holders. Additional qualifications such as a Master’s degree, computer literacy, or membership in relevant professional bodies will be considered advantages.
All applicants must also have at least five credits in relevant O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. Medical applicants must present certificates of registration with their professional bodies, while all candidates are required to submit either a discharge certificate or an exemption letter from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The online registration opens on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and closes on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. A zonal aptitude test will follow, with details to be announced later on the recruitment portal.
