COAS Visits Depot NA Osogbo, Emphasizes Quality Training and Professionalism

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has underscored the importance of effective training and professionalism in shaping the future of the Nigerian Army during his maiden operational visit to the Depot Nigerian Army (NA) in Osogbo.

Addressing officers, instructors, and personnel during the visit, the COAS charged them to remain committed to excellence in the training of recruits.

He emphasized that the foundation of a strong and capable military lies in the quality of its personnel, urging instructors to carry out their duties with passion, dedication, and a focus on capacity development.

“This institution is the backbone of our Army. The quality of soldiers we produce here reflects directly on our performance in the field,” General Oluyede stated.

“We must train with a sense of purpose, instilling discipline, competence, and pride in every recruit.”

General Oluyede also toured key training facilities and infrastructure at the Depot, assessing operational readiness and identifying areas for improvement.

He reiterated his vision to enhance the Army’s effectiveness in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities and assured personnel of continued support to upgrade training standards.

Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele said in a press statement that the visit marks a strategic step in the Army Chief's efforts to strengthen military preparedness through grassroots training reform and infrastructure development.
