The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has praised the Lagos State Government’s newly launched “Produce for Lagos” programme, describing it as a model for national security and resilience.

Speaking earlier today at the official unveiling of the initiative, General Musa lauded the ₦500 billion Offtake Guarantee Fund and the strong collaboration between Lagos State, the private sector, and the Lagos Food Systems Infrastructure Company—LAFSINCO.

The Defence Chief highlighted that the programme aligns with Lagos State’s Agriculture and Food Systems Roadmap, emphasizing that food security is one of the most effective non-military strategies to combat insecurity, poverty, and unemployment nationwide.

He also acknowledged the roles of Special Purpose Vehicles like LAFSINCO, Ekolog, and the Lagos Bulk Trading Company in creating a framework that not only boosts food production and logistics but also secures livelihoods across Nigeria.

Commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, General Musa described Lagos as a benchmark in economic growth, infrastructure development, and strategic urban planning. He further recognized the visionary foundation laid by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau in a press statement said General Musa reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ support for non-kinetic efforts that promote peace and stability, and expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his continued support to national security efforts.
