It was a gathering of celebrities and well meaning individuals in the society, celebration of cultures and thanksgiving to God as the family of Otunba Babafemi and Chief Mrs Yemi Osoba gave their daughter’s hand in marriage to the family of late Chief L.O.T and Late Mrs Veronica Durodola Olugboroko .
The joy of the two families, friends, associates and well wishers knew no bounds as the two love-birds Ayodele and Oluwadamilola tied the knots at Saint, David’s Anglican Church, Lafiaji, Okesuna Lagos on the 27th April 2024.
In his sermon, the preacher thanked God on behalf of the new couple and admonished them to put Him first in their home, while he also urged them to follow Bible precepts and make God the bedrock of their marriage.
" Ayodele, love your wife as God loves the church and you Damilola, honour your husband and respect him ” he said.
The cleric cautioned them against allowing a third party in their marriage and advised families and friends not to meddle in their personal affairs.
Thanksgiving service followed during which the congregation danced to appreciate God for his love to the newly weds.
Entertainment of guests took place at Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel in Lagos with monarchs, chiefs and popular afrobeat musician managements, celebrities from all walks of life such as HRM Oba Gbadegeshin Ogunoye the third, the Olowo Of Owo, HipTV boss Ayo Animashaun, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism Idris Aregbe, SA to Ondo State Governor on Transport Chief Akogun Gbenga Omole, TV show host Frank Edoho, Sulai Aledeh, Cordelia Okpei, Chairman 5-Star Group Dr Emeka Okonkwo aka E-money, Korede Bello, AY comedian, Kate Henshaw, Shaffy Bello, Whizkid’s manager Sunday Are, and Bose Ogulu, Burna Boy’s mother among several others danced joyfully to the melodious evergreen and live music by popular musician Fujicologist ,plus afrobeat star D’Banj who also performed some of his hit songs such as Olorun Maje, Fall in love , Suddenly and Emergency.
The traditional engagement had earlier taken place on 13th April at the bride’s family home in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state, during which the couple , clad in different traditional attires, danced and displayed their cultures in grand style.
“Ayo Durodola, with a mixed heritage of royalty from Benin (Edo State) and Olúgbòrókò chieftaincy clan of Owo (Ondo State) is an Ace Broadcaster who cut his teeth at the Ondo state Radiovision Corporation, Akure before moving to Voice of Nigeria, Lagos, and he currently works within diplomatic circles while his heartthrob former miss Oluwadamilola Osoba is a medical doctor who also runs a healthy lifestyle store”.
