Just In: Nigerian Military Senior Officer, Maj.General Maikano Abdullahi Re-Elected As President of OSMA

The Nigerian Army Senior Officer, Major General Maikano Abdullahi (Nigeria) has been unanimously re-elected by all Chief Delegates and delegates as OSMA President and CISM Vice President for Africa for another four (04) year term (2024-2028). 

The election took place today, 29th February 2024 at the 8th Organisation of Military Sport in Africa, OSMA General Assembly in Abuja, Nigeria. 

Major General Abdullahi was unanimously voted by all the delegates from Sixty-Five delegates within the fifty-one member States in Africa at the ongoing 8th General Assembly Organisation of Military Sport in Africa, OSMA in Abuja, Nigeria. 

Brigadier General Brahima DIABATE (Mali) was unanimously re-elected by all Chief Delegates and delegates as OSMA Treasurer General for another four (04) year term (2024-2028),                 

In his acceptance Speech, the OSMA President extended his heartfelt gratitude to every one who has placed faith in him to continue leading the organization. "Your confidence in my leadership is both humbling and inspiring, and I pledge to uphold the trust you have placed in me with unwavering dedication and commitment. 

"But as we all know our journey is far from over. There are still challenges to overcome, opportunities to seize, and dreams to fulfil. And it is with this unwavering spirit of determination and perseverance that I accept the responsibility of leading OSMA for another 4 years. 

"I am committed to introducing new programs aimed at enhancing the overall experience and engagement of our members. Also, to ensure the sustainability and growth of our organization, we will explore innovative strategies for generating revenue, including sponsorship and partnership deals.

"As we move forward, let us persist in uniting, inspiring, and empowering one another. Together, let's maintain our pursuit of excellence, both on and off the field, serving as a beacon of achievement and unity within our organization. Your unwavering support and dedication are deeply appreciated, and I am grateful for each and every one of you. Let us embrace this new chapter with optimism, determination, and a shared sense of purpose. Together, we will continue to make strides towards a brighter future for African military sports." he noted

The Voting came to an end as at 8:20 am.
