In order to unleash the untapped potentials in women and to create a balance and fulfilment in the lives of women, to navigate the intricate paths of DEPOWA members lives, to chart out actions that will lead towards the realization of their visions and aspirations, the President of Defence and Police Officers Wives Association has organised a 2-Day Visioning and Personal Planning Workshop in Abuja.

The empowering workshop which is centered on creating balance and fulfillment in the lives of women was attended by members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA, NAFOWA and POWA.

Speaking at the opening of the maiden workshop, President of DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa said balancing the demands of work, family, and personal growth can often feel like an overwhelming task for women but it's imperative to acknowledge the multifaceted roles many shoulder as mothers, wives, professionals, and caretakers.

DEPOWA President who was represented by Mrs Helen Markus Kangye noted that women found themselves entangled in a web of responsibilities, where the pursuit of their own dreams may seem unachievable.

"It is important to note that within each of us lies so much untapped potentials. Today, we come together to awaken that potential, to shed light on the dreams and desires that have been dormant within us.

"For many, the challenge is not in the lack of ambition or clarity of purpose, but in articulating and actualizing those dreams. The magnitude of our responsibilities can cast a shadow over our aspirations, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and directionless. It is against this backdrop that this workshop was organized to address the issue of lack of visioning.

"It is envisaged that during this workshop, we will engage in meaningful discussions, reflective exercises, and actionable strategies aimed at empowering each of us to take decisive steps towards our goals. Again, it is hoped that we will explore ways to cultivate balance in our lives, to nurture our relationships, and to cultivate a sense of fulfillment that transcends the boundaries of our daily routines."he added

She urged all participants at the workshop to rise above the challenges that seek to hold them back, and embrace the boundless possibilities that awaits them. "Together, we will create a future that is not only bright and promising but also deeply fulfilling and enriching.

"Together, we will dare to dream boldly, to envision a future that is as rich and vibrant as our imaginations allow. As we embark on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment, let me remind you of the words of Maya Angelou, "We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated."
