The Anambra State Police Command says its operatives have neutralized two members of a gang that killed two policemen on December 29, 2023.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Aderemi Adeoye, who disclosed this to newsmen in Awka on Monday, said the gang members were neutralized during a raid on their camp in Ogboji, Orumba South Local Government Area, on Sunday.
According to him, a 51-year-old victim was rescued in the process and a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle recovered.
He added that other items recovered were four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), two pump action guns and 16 live cartridges. He said the IEDs had been defused.
Adeoye stated that the manhunt for the assailants and every criminal element in the state would continue.
He reiterated the determination of the command to ensure the security of all and urged residents and holidaymakers to go on with their lawful activities without fear.
