13years After, Nigeria Police Force Holds World Class Christmas Carol and Night of Nine Lessons in Abuja

13 years after, the incumbent Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun hosted World Class the 2023 Christmas Carol and Night of Nine Lessons with service Chiefs, former service Chiefs, and top government officials in attendance. 

The Nigeria Police Force 2023 Christmas Carol and Night of Nine Lessons was held on Friday 22 December 2023 at International Conference Centre, Abuja. 

The Police Mass Choir took the stage to deliver Congregational hymns, Carol songs,  special Christmas songs and Congregational hymns in which the Inspector General of Police,  IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, led the mass choir in “To God be the glory.” 

The Carol Nine lessons were read by the three service Chiefs present, as the Police Mass Choir presented well-organised songs and carol songs that thrilled the audience. 

Speaking to journalists, the IGP Egbetokun said the Christmas Carol is an avenue to bring Nigerians together to celebrate and be encouraged to live peacefully with one another. 

“This is the first of its type by the Nigeria Police Force

Before this, Carol, we have made our adequate deployments across the country to ensure that Nigerians are safe and that they enjoy the festivities in peace and harmony.”

Guest artiste, Emma Sax took over the stage, and the atmosphere at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, became charged with almost all the guests dancing to the rhythm of the sax. The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa requested the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to allow the young Emma Sax to perform again.

Dignitries at the Nigeria Police Force Christmas Carol and Night of Nine Lessons were the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Chief Adebayo Olawale Edun; Minister of FCT, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike; Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC), IGP Solomon Arase (retd); Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Musa; Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla; and former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, amongst others.
