Gunmen Kidnap Trust TV Journalist, 3 Other Akwa Ibom Link Bound Abuja Passengers, Demand N10million Ransome

At least five passengers, including a Broadcast Journalist/Editor, Nten Ekpang, with Trust TV travelling to Abuja in a bus belonging to Akwa Ibom State Transport Service from Uyo, have been kidnapped by gunmen at a village before Lokoja, Kogi State.

According to his close friend simply known as Kelvin Chianan, who confirmed this today, Nten Ekpang, travelled on Sunday to Akwa-Ibom State to drop his family with the mother-in-law. 

"I called him yesterday in the morning and he told me he was in the park to which he was about to leave Uyo to Abuja.

"I called him back at about 6 pm to find out whether he had gotten to Abuja but I couldn't get in touch with him, his number was switched off. At about 9 p.m., I was told that he was kidnapped. 

"The kidnappers later called the wife today and demanded N10 million Ransome. Help to raise an appeal for his Release by alerting various security agencies. The driver was freed along with some three passengers. "

SpyeTV News is still intensifying efforts to get more details of the incident.
